Yale supports China charity walk for people in need

Eight employees from ASSA ABLOY Group brand iRevo China have participated in a 16km walkathon along Suzhou Yangcheng Lake in Jiangsu Province to help raise funds for the Shanghai Kindness Wisdom Public Foundation.

The walkathon, which is now into its second consecutive year, was also held simultaneously in Beijing, Wuxi and Guangzhou in May, attracting almost 2,000 participants, who were walking for charity under the theme of “kindness, love and wisdom.”

Temperatures soared around Suzhou Yangcheng Lake on the day of the walkathon, and so iRevo China donated 200 Yale-branded umbrellas and 600 paper fans to help the walkers cope with the heat.

Cool Park, domestic business director at iRevo China, says: “It was such a hot and sunny day, and I’m happy to see that our Yale-branded paper fans and umbrellas helped the participants in the strong sun and heat. I was very happy to be able to participate in this meaningful walk together with my team. I hope we’re spreading this positive energy.”

iRevo China also supplied two Yale digital door locks for a charity sale held in conjunction with the walk. All entry fees and donations were used to support impoverished students, elderly people in need and other vulnerable groups.

Supporting the walkathon demonstrates iRevo China’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and to the wellbeing of its staff, and it also provides an opportunity to promote the Yale brand in China.
